Five Holy Family Hospital Physicians Make the List of Boston’s Top Doctors for 2018

Castle Connolly Medical Ltd. announced its Top Doctors for 2018 and five physicians on staff at Holy Family Hospital made the list.

Holy Family Hospital’s Top Doctors for 2018 are Cardiac Surgeon Arvind Agnihotri, MD; Maternal and Fetal Medicine Specialist Lucy Bayer-Zwirello, MD; Gynecologic Oncologist David Boruta, MD; Bariatric Surgeon Nicole Pecquex, MD; and Thoracic Surgeon John Wain, MD.

Castle Connolly publishes its regional list of Top Doctors to help consumers find high quality health care providers. Top Doctors are rated in the Top 10 Percent of physicians in their medical specialty within their geographic region, and are considered physician leaders.

“At Holy Family Hospital we have a strong focus on delivering high quality care to our patients, and our highly trained physicians play a major role. It’s rewarding that Castle Connolly, which rates physicians across the nation, sees our physicians as leaders in their fields and recognizes their qualifications and dedication,” says John Alexander, MD, Holy Family Hospital’s Chief Medical Officer and Vice President of Medical Affairs, Quality, and Safety.

Top Doctors are nominated by their peers. Each year the organization receives over 150,000 nominations from physicians nominating those they believe to be among the best in their region and throughout the nation.

“Top Doctors like to practice medicine at Top Hospitals because they are both dedicated to delivering the best possible care to patients,” says Craig Jesiolowski, president of Holy Family Hospital, which just earned the prestigious 2017 Top General Hospital Designation from The Leapfrog Group, a national, independent healthcare industry watchdog. “We are proud to have these top physicians on our medical staff, as are our patients, because they are receiving the highest quality care close to home.”

Once a physician is nominated, medical education, training, board certifications, hospital appointments, administrative posts, professional achievements, and malpractice and disciplinary histories are scrutinized by Castle Connolly’s physician-led research team, which makes tens of thousands of phone calls each year to speak with leading specialists, chairs of clinical departments and vice presidents of medical affairs, to gather information.

Castle Connolly’s research methodology is designed to identify doctors that will speed patient healing, minimize pain and discomfort, shorten recovery periods, and enhance and lengthen lives, in order to achieve the best possible outcomes for patients. When research is complete, the doctors among the very best in their specialties, and in their communities, are selected.
