Clinical Pastoral Education Program
We are committed to the holistic care of persons and to meeting the spiritual needs of patients, families, and staff through hospital chaplains and Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) chaplain interns from diverse religious traditions. CPE at Holy Family Hospital provides quality professional education in ministry through a learning process within a supervised clinical setting. CPE helps theological students, ordained clergy, and religious and lay ministers develop competence and confidence in their personal, professional and pastoral identities and roles. CPE supports chaplain inters in their ministerial formation and extends spiritual care and education into an integrated health care effort.
Meeting the standards of the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education, Inc. (ACPE), chaplain interns develop, deepen and integrate into practice the personal, professional and pastoral skills addressed in the objectives and outcomes of CPE that are articulated in ACPE standards.
