Holy Family Hospital Announces 7th Annual Behavioral Medicine Conference on the Effects of Addiction

 
Registration is now open for The Effects of Addiction from Birth to Adulthood, Holy Family Hospital’s 7th Annual Adult Behavioral Medicine Conference for health care professionals. 
 
This year the conference will be held on Friday, September 15, 2017 in the Hartleb Technology Center at Northern Essex Community College, 100 Elliott St. in Haverhill, MA.
 
The day will begin at 7:00 a.m. with registration and continental breakfast, and end at 3:30 p.m. The cost of $45 includes continental breakfast, lunch and continuing education credits:  
6 AMA Category 1 physician risk management CMEs; 7 contact hours for nursing; and 6.5 CEUs for social workers, and 6 CEUs for licensed mental health counselors.
 
This year’s topics are: 
Sharing the Truth About Addiction - A Personal Story of Addiction and Recovery,” with Anthony Sideri, a survivor of addiction and motivational speaker.
 
“EMS and the Local Opioid Epidemic: A Paramedic’s Perspective,” with Kirk Brigham, PM, Training Center Coordinator and Director of Clinical Services for Trinity EMS. The presentation includes a Narcan demonstration.
 
“The Opioid Addicted Patient,” with Marc Simmons, MD, Medical Director of the Emergency Department at Holy Family Hospital-Haverhill.
 
“Chronic Opioid Use: The Opioid Crisis and What it Means for Providers,” with Stephanie Gianoukos, MD, Pain Medicine Specialist at Holy Family Hospital.
 
Substance Use Disorder and Pregnancy,” with Lucy Bayer-Zwirello, MD,  Chief of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center.
 
“Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome: A Disorder of the Past and Present,” with Francheyska Silfa Mazara, MD, Medical Director of the Level II Special Care Nursery at Holy Family Hospital.
 
To register, please mail your check, made payable to Holy Family Hospital, to Jean MacDougall-Tattan, Director of Marketing, Holy Family Hospital, 140 Lincoln Ave., Haverhill, MA 01830. Please put your phone number on the check and we will call you when it is received. Please indicate the type of CEUs you require. If you are paying for more than one person, please tell us who, and the type of CEU needed. Due to expenses that will be incurred for breakfast and lunch, no refunds will be issued for no shows. 
 
The deadline for registration is Friday, September 1, 2017.
