General Surgeon Brett Matthews, DO will present a medical Meet the Expert seminar on minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery for gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), hiatal hernias and achalasia on February 6, 2018,  6 to 7 p.m. in the ground floor auditorium of Holy Family Hospital in Methuen.

During his presentation Dr. Matthews will go over common foregut issues including GERD, hiatal hernia and achalasia; identify surgical indications and techniques, and describe the pros and cons of medical and surgical treatments.

This presentation is free and open to the public. Registration is required. Light refreshments will be served. One contact hour in nursing will be awarded at the end of the presentation.
