Community Health Programs

Learn more about some of our specific community health programs and services:

  • Diabetes Awareness Initiative. Working with many partners within the community, Holy Family Hospital's diabetes awareness initiative strives to educate community members about diet, exercise, medication and glucose monitoring. The hospital's specially trained health professionals teach participants to self-manage their diabetes with the goal to decrease the risk of future complications.
  • Cancer Education, Awareness and Early Detection. This program addresses prostate, breast, head and neck, and skin cancers in response to higher-than-state-averages for these cancers in Holy Family’s primary service area. Community outreach programs include free prostate, head and neck, and facial screenings, and numerous lectures by our clinical experts on breast health and self-exams, prostate problems and clinical exams, the dangers of tanning and new tobacco products, and more.
  • Senior Suppers. Holy Family Hospital invites seniors for quarterly senior supper. For $5 per person, each senior receives a well-balanced meal and enjoys a healthy living presentation, which may include information on cancer screenings, fall prevention, and healthy aging. These lunches provide a caring atmosphere, health education and socialization for those who attend.
